Creating Product Photography for Staples

Behind the Lens: Creating Product Photography for Staples' Pick Me Up Provisions Granola Bars

At Prospect Street Studio, we’re always thrilled to see our work out in the wild, especially when it’s for a brand as iconic as Staples! Recently, we had the pleasure of collaborating with a marketing agency to bring their Pick Me Up Provisions granola bar line to life through ecommerce product photography for the website and packaging. Here’s a look behind the scenes at how we made it happen—and how our studio helps CPG brands shine through both ecommerce and lifestyle photography.

The Project Scope: Showcasing the Brand’s Personality

Our task for this project was simple yet vital: to create clean, engaging product photos that would look great on both ecommerce platforms and physical packaging. For Staples, having strong visuals was essential for catching customer attention both online and in stores. The stakes were high, but as specialists in CPG photography here at Prospect Street Studio, we were ready to capture exactly what their brand needed.

Shooting at Our Worcester, MA Studio

For this project, Carrington Crothers, Prospect Street Studio’s owner and lead photographer, headed up the shoot. Our Worcester, MA studio became the set where the Pick Me Up Provisions granola bars had their moment to shine! From setting up just the right lighting to ensuring each product shot stayed true to the brand, we made sure the photos were polished, professional, and, most importantly, appealing.

A Dual Focus: Ecommerce and Lifestyle Photography

At Prospect Street Studio, we specialize in creating both ecommerce product photography and lifestyle shots. Each approach serves a unique purpose in marketing: ecommerce photos focus on clarity and detail, giving customers an accurate view of what they’re purchasing, while lifestyle images add context, showing the product in relatable settings.

For Staples’ Pick Me Up Provisions, we concentrated on crisp, high-quality product focused images for ecommerce that could double as product packaging shots. By highlighting the texture and quality of each granola bar, our images aimed to boost customer interest and drive sales, both online and in stores across New England and beyond.

Seeing Our Work in the Real World

It’s always rewarding to see our work come to life, and we’re proud to have been part of this project for Staples. Each time we see those granola bars on shelves or spot them online, it reminds us of the value strong visuals bring to a brand’s success.
